Big Trip!

Solon is going on his first trip to the Delta this weekend to finally meet Nanna and Pinky! He is pretty excited, and we are going to be busy packing today. We will leave Thursday and meet up with Sally, Jason and Luke in Starkville, and then we will wake up bright and early Friday morning and head to Greenwood. Giddy up!

Mind The Gap

Solon seems to have inherited my dad's feet! Both my dad and Janie have a larger-than-average gap between their big toe and 2nd toe. This makes it impossible for either of them to wear flip flops. So I believe Solon can be looking at a flip-flopless future as well.

Blue Blueberry Muffins

Most everyone knows that I am not the best cook. I am a little impatient so sometimes this means I just skim instructions. Well, I was making blueberry muffins Sunday morning and was about to pop them in the oven when Jay started laughing. He asked me if I thought these muffins were a little blue. Well, after reading the baking instructions on the box I realized I was supposed to mix the batter before adding the blueberries. They still tasted good!

Audience

Since I have been home, I have been doing all the cooking. And it is edible! So Jay and Solon hang out and talk to me in the kitchen.

Saturday Afternoon Bouncy Time

When the rainforest gets started up, Solon gets excited sometimes and starts chewing on his hands.

Rocking Chair

Jackson spotted Solon's car carrier and hopped in it and started rocking.

LP Time

Jay, Solon and I headed over to Josef & Laura's house on Saturday to catch up with them. Solon loved being held by Laura, and Jackson pet him a few times.

A Little Blurry

These pics were taken with Jay's camera, and I couldn't figure out how to speed up the shutter speed so the images are a little fuzzy.

Feed Me Seymour!

Changing Pad-Part One

Whenever Solon gets upset, a quick cure is to put him on his changing pad. Something about the vantage point and soft cushiony pad makes him immediately light up and start smiling.

The Big Man

Holy Cow!

Solon went to his 2 month doctor's appointment this morning. Jay and I made a guess on how much we thought he would weigh. I said 12 lbs. 1 oz, and Jay said 12 lbs. 6 oz. Well, Mr. Marshmallow Man weighed in at 13 lbs. 8 oz. and 25" long. No wonder my back has been killing me all week. So much so I had to break out the heating pad last night.
Anyway, he also had to get a few shots as well which were no fun. Carmen, our nurse, was super sweet with him, but he still turned beet red and screamed. So tonight he received a nice warm bath (which he screamed throughout) and is now wearing one of his beloved GOWNS and is reclining in his swing finally happy.

Finally!

Solon slept through the night last night! From 9 to 5! Jay and I are hoping this becomes the trend..especially since I head back to work in a week.

Picking up the Pacifier

Solon and I went up to mine and Jay's office today to meet everyone. I forgot my camera, but everyone enjoyed seeing him for the first time. We came back to the house and watched some of the inauguration ceremony, and Solon picked up his pacifier all by himself. He didn't get it to his mouth however...
