How Do We Relax?

After a long day of work..with some daquiris. I think these are RumRunner flavored. So a la my dad, we stood outside and admired all the hard work we have put in and sipped on our cocktails while grilling out some yummy steaks!

Standing/Squating Tall

Solon has sea legs. They are kind of jelly-like, but he really loves to try and stand up.

A Call To All The Green Thumbs

Ann, Momma and Sally! Are these azelea bushes? We took a stroll around the neighborhood and like these for the backard and possibly out front.

That Time of Year

Jay broke out the metal stick and fertilized our dogwood. Solon and I sat on the front porch and watched.

I..Make...Fire

Today Jay shoveled dirt in the hot weather while I cleaned the house. Around 5 it was time to get the fire pit underway. We leveled out the dirt and set the stone. We need about 15 stones to finish it, but the design is there!

Chirp Chirp

Solon is currently fascinated with the little red parrot on his bouncy seat. He cranes his neck to look at him and tries to grab him. And sometimes when he is sitting across the room, he spots it and just stares.

Home

We set the bird bath up in its new home! Now all we need are for the birds to dive into it! With the bird feeders we have set up in the yard, we now have all sorts of them flying around. Cardinals, robins, blue jays and little gray ones.

Bumbo-ing in the Kitchen

Solon entertained himself with the gorilla glue while we were in the kitchen Thursdsay night. He finished up the night with green beans which he liked more than the peas.

Bad Stuffs

Good Stuffs

Out Like a Light

Solon sacked out yesterday morning after eating. When I woke him up to get ready for school, he was very unhappy and frowny.

Five Months Old

Solon turned 5 months old last Saturday! To celebrate he wore his Run DMC shirt and danced.

Bumpy Terrain

We spread out the topsoil using a rake and then sprinkled hay on top so when the rain came all our dirt wouldn't wash away. Later in the afternoon, we dug a trench and set the vinyl lining for our back planting bed.

Interlude

We all had to take breaks throughout the day. Rusty took a rest on the topsoil while we were shoveling around him. Solon, Jay and I all went to Home Depot to pick up some hay and stone for the fire pit.

DIRT-Y Work

We had 7 cubic yards of fill dirt and 4 cubic yards of topsoil delivered last Saturday morning. Jay and I spent at least 8 hours shoveling and unloading the wheel barrow. It was very hard work. Almost as hard as the jackhammering/concrete job.

The Brave One

We had to have an Easter meal before we hit the road. We were originally thinking pancakes and bacon, but Jason mentioned sushi. SOLD. They have some of the best sushi I have ever eaten at a place in Penscola called Horizons. And my mom has never eaten it before. Well, she was very brave. Because we started her off with the non-raw stuff. The soft shell crab rolls. But she wanted to try more. So Momma ate raw tuna! And loved it!
Great way to end a fantastic weekend!
