Finally Enjoying It For Real

This year Solon has finally started to enjoy all the Christmas-y things. Santa. Christmas Trees. Rudolph. Jingle Bells..and Mickey's Christmas Carol. He especially loves "Baby Mickey" who is really Tiny Tim.

Edible Architecture

Solon spent this past Friday with Carlotta (nanny), and they went to go see her grand kids in their Christmas play. Then they had lunch in the cafeteria and afterwards made this cute little graham cracker house. I had to toss it pretty soon after this photo because every time Solon saw it he would start crying because he wanted to eat the candy.

Anything Will Do

Muffin took to the paint cans with his drum sticks.

Sanders Christmas 2010

Here is the group shot of EVERYONE. Sanders and Dales. (The only people missing were David, Emily, Sam & Emma.) And then a shot Jay managed to get of the Sparkman girls with Nanna. It was such a wonderful and fun day!

Christmas In Greenwood

So many of us at Nanna's house! We all arrived around 10 a.m. on Saturday and spent the day drinking wine, eating, playing, swapping presents and talking .

I am just going to add a ton of random shots and give a quick summary of the day. The Dales came over a couple of hours. Tess taunted Jay and me into singing Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. We played kick ball/tag out back. The little kids tested out their vocal chords in the atrium and scared Jay in the process. We met Margo's new boyfriend, Shane. Solon admired Nanna's nativity scene..sometimes a little too closely. All the little ones actually sat at their table and ate and drank...at the same time.

So Long

To some locks and Anna. Or "Nina" as Solon has called her the past few months. We are making our annual trek to Greenwood for Nanna Christmas today, so I gave Muffin a trim because he was starting to look a little too bumpkin.
We are getting on the road around lunch, and we will be making a side trip to Meridian to give Anna back to Shellye. It is going to be hard saying goodbye to her because she is such good company during the long week, and I know Solon is going to miss playing hide and seek with her and having her join him in his crib when he gets up from his naps.

Forgotten Memories

Solon has become a big fan of the Rudolph The Reindeer classic, and we watch it at least twice a day now. I had forgotten a lot about the show. Hermie wanted to be a dentist. The song "Silver and Gold." Anyway, Solon watches the show and reads the book at the same time.

Where Did Solon Go?

Solon had fun getting into the big sack and walking around the kitchen acting like I couldn't see him. But then he busted the bag in half and was discovered.

Lighst On..Lights Off

Here is the annual shot of our tree. We moved up a foot and have a 10' one this year. It just barely grazes the ceiling so no tip top accoutrements.

The Big Big Tub

Solon took a swim in our tub which is much bigger and deeper. This is the look he gives me when I say "smile!"
