Never Attend A Game Again

It has been a running joke around our house that Jay and I do not need to go to anymore Braves games because every time we do..they lose. And they haven't lost many games. Well, this event completely verified all those conversations.
Sunday afternoon, we decided to head to the game very last minute. We had fun eating some game food, and Solon actually let us sit in our seats for a few innings. We then spent lots of time walking around the stadium and checking out the kiddie playground. Anyway, it was bottom of the 8th, and we were down 5 runs and decided to leave. We come back to the house and are relaxing when Jay's phone beeps. It is a text from Josef asking if we saw the game. Immediately Jay knew that we had just walked out on a spectacular run for the Braves. Sure enough when we checked the highlights on TV, the Braves scored 6 runs and ended up winning the game. All after we left!

In The Meantime

While I was at class on Saturday, Jay and Solon headed up to Marietta to Jo/Laura's house. Jason O, Annie, Preston and Evan drove up from Macon to join as well. I told Jay to take lots of photos but this is all he managed, so they spent the day swimming, at a park and playing in the game room with all of Jackson/Jamison's toys.
.
I got over there around 6, and we ate burgers and hot dogs. It was quite a circus trying to eat and keep track of 5 boys. Anyway, Jay, Solon and I spent the night over and had fun watching parts of the Lion King and later when the kids went to bed..having some wine and listening to music.

Doesn't Look Like Much

Here is a photo of one of the joints I made in my woodworking class. A blind dovetail. It took me about an hour and a half to do this, and I got a "good job" out of one of my teachers. Other joints I made were a full dovetail and mortise and tenon. Anyway-the class was lots of fun, and I am looking forward to the next one which should be before the end of the year.
And just to note. I made all my joints using only my saw and chisels.

Gotta Run.

Solon spots his backpack on the coat rack and immediately wants me to put it on him. Then he walks about the house saying "Bye Bye." School must be a lot better than I remember. (Solon was just watching this video with me and told himself "Bye Bye.")

His Second Name

Solon has started mimicking everything we say..all the way down to saying "Muffin Man."

Better Than The Park

To Solon nothing beats the actual card ride to and from to the park. And when it is time to get out of the car, he is like a little mouse..scurrying all around the car...trying to prevent me from catching him. He also likes to pretend drive. Even making an attempt to push the pedals.

Other Park Events

Little Monkey

Solon finally mastered this part of the jungle gym a couple of weeks ago.

Wood 102

My second woodworking class, Foundations II, begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. I had to do a little bit of homework which included getting more familiar with my backsaw. I got my dad's clamps and rigged up a poor-man's work table.

Chugga Chugging Up The Hill

Solon wanted to help push the wheel barrow of tools back to Nana's house, but it was too slow going. So I carried the tools, and Solon rode shotgun.

A BIG HUGE BREAKFAST

Jay planned and cooked up a great Sunday morning breakfast for me, Solon and Ann. French toast, bagels, bacon and mimosas. Afterwards, we all passed out for a couple of hours.

The Sideshow

While Jay was working, I was keeping Muffin entertained. He played in the hose, blew bubbles in the bucket full of water and I pushed him around the backyard in the wheel barrow.

Here We Go Again

Jay woke up Saturday morning and was ready to get our fence project underway. So, we headed to HD to pick up posts and cement mix. By the end of the day, Jay had dug and set 12 posts. I was beyond impressed. His hands were shaking from using the post-hole digger and his feet were pruned from all the water mixing the concrete. Next step is to level off the top of the posts and set the rails.

34~Holy Cow

Jay, Solon and Ann put on a great bday bash for me tonight. Pizza, wine and delicous cupcakes from 'Piece of Cake.' Then some fun cards and gifts! Got a shout out from my girl Hott/Caro! A package in the mail from my mom that had a fall wreath (umm...been asking for one of these forever!), make-up and some cool tile dishes. From Ann---a beautiful blue vase, fun pad for my thoughts and to-do lists and picture frames. From Solon! a horse calender, CDs (yes.I am a dork. Bobby Darin and Boston), some graph paper pads. And from Bird...totally unexpected. A saddle bag. We saw this in an antique store several weeks ago and both died over it. Now I can't wait to take a trip somewhere so I can show it off! I got so many calls & texts today from all my people. Kisses! Thank you for making today so awesome!
