The Girl's Super Bowl

Oscar is tonight! And I already have our menu planned. Chicken Bouillabaisse and apple/cherry tarts. Jay and I also have made our predictions on the winners. Can't wait!

Replaced

I have been meaning to post a picture of my new-ish car. Since my Jeep never surfaced, we bought a Volvo SUV. It is great. Has three rows of seating and a great interior.

Fire Up The Backyard

We have had this large pile of limbs and leaves all winter that we have been meaning to use for the fireplace. Well, we are just now getting around to it, so today our goal is to burn as much up as possible.

Tic Toc

We are spending today out in the yard working, and Solon has been chasing poor Taco around relentlessly.

Ray of Sunlight

Solon drug half his drum kit out to the screened porch and played along to the CD on the stereo.

Busted Bubble

I walked in the kitchen this Friday and found that Solon had squirted half the dishwasher soap into the sink and made a crazy amount of bubbles. I think he got some bubbles in his eyes hence the poked out lip and crying.

Night Time Game

Solon has this little game he plays every time he gets out of the bath. He gets on our bed, hides under his towel and screams "Solon! Where Are You???" So Jay and I play along and pretend like we can't find him at first. Then yank back the towel and he starts squealing. Then we do it all over again.

Picture Time

Solon found my old broken camera this morning and followed me around saying 'cheese!'

Messy

Laura brought out the finger paints while we got dinner ready. It turned into a hot mess real quick. Jamison tried eating it. Solon got it all over his hands and clothes. Jackson was the only one actually able to keep himself under control.

Safety Man

Solon thinks helmets are cool

Look! I Am Drivins

We headed up to see/spend the night with Josef & Laura and their crew this past Saturday. Jackson had some great toys...namely this awesome Jeep. So the boys all took turns driving and riding.

Making A Card

My great-aunt Pinky turned 90 on February 21st. Everyone in the family agreed to bombard her with mail. So each one of us here made her a card. Here Solon is putting his arts & craft skills to work.

Friday Play Time

The weather has been wonderful the past week, so Solon and I enjoyed the backyard this past Friday. We brought out his car and the music, and we kicked the soccer ball around. Then we came inside and played a few frames of bowling.

Meal in Honor

Jay's dad would have been 65 this past February 13th, so in honor of his birthday we cooked up a couple of steaks. Johnny was a great cook, and neither one of us know how to do his specialies so we figure this was a good choice.

Valentine's

Jay brought me home some pretty flowers on Monday.

Hats Off

Jay and I took turns wearing the DQ bag while Solon got his sticky fingers all over Jay's baseball cap.

Fit For A King

As a treat last week, I took Solon to Dairy Queen for a hot fudge sundae. It was really one of my most favorite times with him because we actually had mini conversations. He is really into wanting to do cheers with glasses right now...and when we sat down he grabbed his red spoon and held it up to me and said "Cheers Gita!" Anyway, we all three made another visit this past Sunday and sat outside on the screened porch and dug in.

So Big

We took a stroll on Sunday, and Solon was really squeezed into his ride.

Yummy Yummy...Big Tummy

Look at my pretty Silly! Can't wait for my little neice to arrive...in what? Less than a month!

Whatcha Doin' Papo?

That is what we heard all day from Solon..as Jay and I tried to hang the ceiling fan. We have had this fan sitting on the floor for over 6 months, so we decided to get productive and finally hang it. I actually was able to use my knowledge from school to help us match wires. Black means HOT. White means NEUTRAL. And green means GROUND. Now we have light.
Jay is wearing one of my dad's flannels. We would have instinctively called him to figure out all the wiring. I know he would have been proud that I knew to shut off the electricity before we got started:)
