Low Key Oscar Night
After a big weekend, we just kept it chill for the Oscars. Solon did a movie on our bed with mac/cheese. And Jay cooked up some spinach dip and then a yummy pasta dish.
See It To Believe It
I never saw Amanda eat one green thing her entire life. She seriously existed off white bread and water throughout our childhood. So to hear recently that she has gone vegan..it was hard for me to believe. But she showed up at our house with all her food. She feels and looks great after only a few weeks of eating a plant based diet. So in honor of her efforts, we cooked up a vegan feast Saturday night. And sampled some of her yummy snacks. And we finally figured out how to cook tofu without it having that weird slimy texture.
From The Sidelines
The kids all lined up to take turns kicking the ball into the goal, and it was so fun to watch from afar how Solon is with his little friends. He is such a ham. He had one mission and that was to get someone laughing. Jumping. Making funny noises. Or funny faces. He reminded me so much of what I am sure Jay was like at that age. Just loved people and wanted lots of friends:)
Too Many Pictures. I Know.
I just couldn't pick which photos to post because I think they are all so cute! Solon had his first soccer game this past Saturday. I use game loosely because it was really a lot of stretching and running around like fools. Jay ended up being the coach of Solon's team, The Bears, and he did a great job keeping all the kids somewhat organized. They did a few drills and then played a little game towards the end.
This will go down as one of the cutest things I have ever seen Solon be a part of..he was just one big smile the entire time. Loved.

A Suprise Visit!
Amanda and Caelan fell into a great deal. One of Amanda's friends was heading to St. Augustine for a week long vacation, and she offered a ride to Amanda/Caelan and drop them off in Atlanta. It was a 16 hour long haul for them but so worth it. They got into town Friday afternoon, and we did a ton of playing with the boys. Caelan wasn't in the front door for two seconds before he and Muffin were upstairs banging away on the drums!

Forming an Opinion
Solon and I were driving in the car today and listening to the Bruno Mars CD. Whew. I am about worn out on every single song. So I flipped to the radio, and Coldplay's "Paradise" was playing. I immediately told him that this was Luke's favorite song. Which it is. Solon quit his protesting and listened. Then when we got home he wanted me to put it on YouTube..and guess what. He loved it. He sat at my desk and watched it over and over. So fingers crossed that we can enter at least one new song into our daily rotation.
Pieces & Parts
Solon's room is in need of some serious attention. It has super tall ceiling and is kind of big..so it felt empty with his bed floating in the middle of it. We went to IKEA and bought two end tables, one lamp, a book shelf, curtains (still need to be hemmed) and rod all for under $200. So now his room looks a little better...
We Haven't Forgotten
I know when we were getting ready for Solon's arrival that we were taking photos of all the new things we had bought and put together. Well, this go around there isn't as much stuff to get...but one big thing. Cookie's bedding. She had to have pink of course, and it has been quite the search trying to find something that wasn't just too PINK. And wasn't a bazillion dollars:) Ann and I spotted this at Target last Friday, and Jay and I put it on the crib Friday night. It has little owls on the sheets and blankets. Super cute.
Then there is the little ice cream pillow. It was in mine/Sally/Janie's crib when we were babies. It actually weathered the years well in my mom's care, and all it needed was a pillow to stuff into it.
