Poke & Poke
My BFF from forever spent a night with us along with her husband (Tony) and two kids (Eli & Rachel). We had a great dinner of pulled pork sandwiches and cilantro coleslaw. And the kids had a blast playing. We found the three older ones sacked out in our bed:)
Tot-A-Licous
She's feeling miles better! She's being sweet and funny. Hard to believe she is almost 17 months old!

Another Day In Capitol View Manor
Yep. That's Jay talking to the cops. Jay came home from work Friday night, and Solon started running down the driveway to meet him. Our neighbors keep a pit bull tied up in their front yard, and give it enough length on the rope for him to hang into our driveway. The dog made a move towards Solon, so Jay asked our neighbor if he would mind taking in some of the rope because we have two small kids. Before I knew it I could hear things getting heated outside. The neighbor came out angry and drunk, cussing and telling us that he has been in this neighborhood for 20 years and it was private property. Blah. Blah. Blah. He was being so offensive and rude it took Jay aback. It scared me because you just never know what people will do when they are angry, so Jay called the cops. Two cars showed up and were explained the situation. At the end, the dog was moved to the other side of the house.
I love my neighborhood, but I will be happy to move away from it because of stuff like this...

My Tots-Ma-Gots
Where to even begin with this girl. If it looks like she cries a lot..she does. We have been to the pediatrician's office at least 5 times in the past month trying to get her ear infections under control. Plus all her molars are coming through. It has really strung all of us out. Solon included. Plus, she wants to do..what she wants to do. And will pitch a tantrum if told no. I just don't even know what to do. Because in complete honesty, Solon has never once fallen to the floor and pitched a fit. Ever.
So here she is. First picture. She was told no. Fall on the floor and cry. Second picture. We were in Micheal's to get Solon some new paint, and she grabbed these two stuffed dogs...and would not let go. Or there would be hell to pay. So I caved and bought them. Third picture. I took the kids to Nordstrom's to buy Muffin some new shoes. That in-store visit lasted about 3 minutes because Tudor-B grabbed this purple horse, and I took it away. Oh my god. Bucking crazy wild woman. We ran out of the store. Picture four. She hates her car seat. Picture five. She is a climber, and her favorite place to be is on top of the dining room table. Don't take her down or she will throw another fit. Picture six. Being sweet because she is on the dining room table and eating a string cheese.
Love my girl...but ready for the next phase.
Two Short But Sweet Visits
The Rabinowitz clan & Haywood clan were our first guests in the new place. They were making the trek to Raleigh to meet a new nephew, so they stayed with us twice. Once on their way up..and once on their way home. Solon was so happy to entertain his guests! We had food, wine and Smores! Guess which part of that they were most excited about.
