We're Too Excited To Sleep

Solon and I are heading to the beach tomorrow sometime after lunch! And are going to be spending the week down there with everyone. Jay & Ann will be flying in Thursday. Momma will be down either Wednesday or Thursday. And Stephen and Cat will be down on Friday. Going to be a great 4th!

Grump A Lumps

This is the look I get by about 5 pm every day. Time for Jay to come home so I can hand him off.

Seed For the Birds

Jay fills up our bird feeders almost every other day. We get lots of traffic and are hoping that they are eating some of the thousands of mosquitoes out back.

Mini Medusa

Solon's hair was especially crazy this morning. I didn't have the energy to tame it, so he went to the mall looking like this...

About Time

It only took 19 months for Jay to finally finish his Abraham Lincoln book. I will miss all the little bits of info he would share with me after he read.

Soothing

To help ease Solon's crying from sore gums, we give him a slice of apple to chew on at night.

Zero Fun

I have to renew my architecture license by the end of this month which requires me to finish up all my continuing education. UGH. So I have been cramming in a lot of online lectures while Solon naps and after he goes to bed at night.

Keeping It Simple

Solon was running a high temperature on Monday due to his teeth, so we got rid of the clothes to help him keep cool.

Sunday Breakfast

I let Jay sleep in Sunday morning, and Solon and I ran to the grocery and came back to cook up breakfast. Pancakes, bacon, fried eggs (for Jay), fruit and milk! And Jay's only request for the day...was that he could sit on the couch all day and watch the US Open.

Inauguration

Despite the heat, we tested out the fire pit Saturday night. The holly bush went up super quick. Needless to say, we didn't hang out for that long.

Grabbing Hands

I was trying to take a photo of me and Solon taking a break on the front stoop, but he kept grabbing the camera and knocking one of us out of the shot. I managed a couple of decent ones.

Itsy Bitsy

Introducing the first plant in our bed in the backyard. A japanese maple so tiny that you almost need a microscope to see it.

Base Camp

Solon and Rusty hung out on the front porch while Jay and I slaved away planting and digging in 105 degrees. We got some pretty sunflowers around the mailbox, and a pink azalea where the holly bush used to be a few weeks ago. And Napoleon (the live oak) is growing so tall. It is easily 12' tall.

Picking Out Plants

We all headed to Home Depot early Saturday morning to get plants for the yard and more grass seed.

The Awakening

Solon is so adorable when he wakes up from his nap. He has creases in his face and is all warm and snuggly! And all smiles.

Signs Of Life

My elephant ears have popped up and more and more grass is appearing. We also have this huge scary moth living on the front porch.
