This One's For Lukey!

Solon has been asking me every morning if we are going to Pensacola that day..and I have to always tell him no.  Well, I only have to do that for one more morning because we are taking off Thursday for four nights.  Outside of us the only out-of-towners will be Lyle and his new girlfriend, Bishop.  Can't wait to sit by the pool and enjoy a glass of wine with everyone!

All Through The Night

She did it! Jay went into her room at 4:30 this morning thinking something terrible must have happened because Tudor-Beach had not made a peep.  But nope.  She decided that it was about time to let us go an entire night without changing diapers and feeding her.

I cannot tell you how momentous an occasion this is for us:)  And just in time for our trip to Pensacola.

YEAH!

Test

Blogger has all these new templates, so we are going to test a few of them out. I have like 10 spare seconds in the day to play around with it all, so we will see how it all ends up.

Cute Little Lips

When Tudor-Beach is sound asleep she does this little thing with her mouth...like she has an imaginary pacifier.  So cute.

Two Months Old

Look how big she is getting! It is hard to believe she has only been around for two months.  She is cuter every day, and she is holding her head up really well.  She has worked her way up to sleeping for 4 hour stretches..but we are hoping for 6....soon.  And she will be making her first trip to Pensacola this weekend!

Really?

I promse he wasn't crying when I first started taking pictures, but Solon is going through this phase where the slightest 'injury' sends him into a big fit of tears.  I think it is some response to having to share attention with Tudor-Beach now.  Anyway, I was originally wanting to document his crazy hair.  Now he has a crazy face to go along with it.

Sweet Little Thing

We Have A Guest

We brought Lyle along for our normal Saturday outing to the YMCA pool.  Solon had him working overtime on playing, and towards the end of the day they found a lizard.

Game Changer

Lyle recently passed the Patent Bar, and he was going about the south cold-calling firms about jobs. And he actually scored a job offer on his last day in Raleigh, NC.  So, Saturday morning he drafted his acceptance letter and then had Solon officially email it.  Lots of big changes are in store for Lyle with just the press of a button.

I Spy

Lyle came through Atlanta Friday and stayed the night with us, and Solon fell in love. HARD.  I came downstairs Saturday morning and found them two outside building bark castles and counting marbles.

Wild Eyed

About 4 pm each day, Tudor-Beach wakes up and gets all bug-eyed on me.

In The Blink Of An Eye

Solon and I built this lovely shelter, and it has evolved from dog house to space shuttle.  He was playing in it Friday, and in the span of a second it got quiet and he had passed out.  So funny how little kids just go..go...go..and then crash.  I called Jay and told him that Mupps was asleep in a box, and he said just let him be.  So there he rest for over an hour.

Don't Mess With The "DO"

Look at that crazy hair!  I don't know if it will ever lie down flat! But she is looking pretty cute and chubby these days. And definitely likes baths more than Muffin did when he was this age.

On the Phone

"Hey Sweetheart!"  Those are the first words that would be out of my mom's mouth as soon as she heard my voice on the other end of the line.  And those are the two words I want to hear, especially today.

Today is our first Mother's Day without Momma.  I feel like Sally, Janie and I have had too many sad and painful "firsts" the past couple  of years.  And  despite the number of them, they still just suck.  Because not matter how much you wish...you can't change things.  Or go back in time and reclaim a moment.

I miss Momma today for so many reason but most of all because I have Tudor-Beach.  I spent the morning holding her in my arms while Jay, Nana and Solon went out for breakfast.  I just looked into her pretty blue eyes and just wished with all my heart that Momma was here to see her as well.

Happy Mother's Day to Momma and all the other one's I love so much:)

7 Weeks Old

Relaxinzzz

We did a whole bunch of nothing this weekend.  The Y opened up the outdoor pool for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday, so we were up there the entire time.  Solon played so much in the pool that his little soft feet had blisters on the bottom of them.

Cinco

We hit our fave Mexican joint this past Friday night.  Margaritas and good food.

Want To Take A Ride

Solon told me to come watch him ride his helicopter, and I wasn't quite expecting this show.  Him tumbling in a cardboard box.  He even asked me to hop on in and join him.  That would be a funny sight for Jay to walk into.

Looks Can Fool

We have had a rough ride here the past few days.  Seems Tudor-Beach had either some form of stomach bug or her new-ish formula wasn't treating her right.

Not to get into specifics, she has had A LOT  of diaper changes and there has been way too much crying.  I got so upset yesterday afternoon that I was crying with her, but it looks like things have reversed.

Fingers crossed that we can get through the next 24 hours without major incident.

All Their Fault

It has taken awhile for me to finally come around to the prospect of selling the Porsche.  It has sat under the blanket for so long and was only being driven around the neighborhood every few months.  And now with Tudor-Beach here, I just don't have the time to really enjoy it. And two car seats don't fit well in it.

So, I had it towed to the dealership yesterday, and they are going to check and make sure it is running great before I put it on the market.  I am going to shed some big fat tears when she is finally gone:(  I bought her on my 30th birthday, and my dad actually cried on the phone when I told him what I did.  He and I always dreamed of buying a sports car, and he always told me "I would get mine one day."  He came to Atlanta for my 30th birthday, and he drove me around in it.  And scared me half crazy going 80 mph down small roads.

But! I am going to take her out for a few more rides before saying goodbye. If anyone is interested in a 1983 911 SC with 66K original miles...then give me a call!

Ages and Ages

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my 6 week check up this morning, and I have been given the all clear to start moving.  That means I can lift stuff..but more importantly start exercising!  I have been a big ole lazy slob for way too long, so tomorrow I am off to the gym.  Ann is being the best and going to watch Cookie for me, and I am going to go do some damage to my muscles:)  Yeah!!!!!

Fix It

Well, I have a mountain of furniture that is in serious need of repair.  Most of the things are from when my mom passed away, and I really want to get everything fixed and back to its original state so we can use it and then one day pass it along to Solon and Tudor-Beach.  What that means is I have to find some money:) and someone who can do it all for me at a reasonable price.

Yesterday, Jay and I went over to the old house and documented the pieces there that need help.  My bedroom suit growing up.  A secretary. Another dresser.  A chair.  And the old plantation bell that (supposedly?) was on Solon Brown's land, Elder Grove, in the Delta.

And that doesn't account for the furniture here at our house.  Yeah.  This is an overwhelming project.

I will keep everyone posted on the progress.
