That Time of Year Again

It is with sadness in my heart that I post all these great photos.  Because the Rabinowitz clan couldn't join us.  Their flight from Raleigh to Pensacola was canceled due to a busted window, so we had to head to the fair without them.  But the rest of the annual fair crew was there! Jay,  Janie, Sarah, me and the kids.

The fair has always been fun, but this year it was so much more.  We weren't in the gates for more than 3 seconds before Solon and Sarah were devouring a bag of cotton candy.  And then we grabbed a few beers and found the kid rides.  Solon loved the big slide and then pointed to the swings and said he wanted to ride them.  They were a little advanced from what he was used to, but we let him go for it.  He just barely made the required 42", and he loved it.  LOVED IT.  So with that we decided to let him ride pretty much whatever he wanted which included the dragon roller coaster (with Janie), the sky-gliders (with Sarah),  the Tilt-a-Whirl (all three girls),  the Nascar roller coaster (with Jay), the Scrambler (with me) and the Mouse Roller coaster (with all three girls).  No lie.  Some of these rides kind of scared me due to how high they went up.  But there was never a second of not pure excitement on Muffin's face.  All we could think was how much we wished Luke was there to do it with us.

The grown-ups did a few rides and then hit about every food vendor possible.  Corn dogs, pizza, gyros, cheese fries and funnel cakes.

Tudor-Beach hung in there the whole evening.  She was cracked out on all the lights, but she kept super snugly in her pink blanket.
