Trying To Sway

I personalized Solon's vampire cape yesterday, but he still isn't convinced it is cool. So us adults have been wearing capes to show him that they are way cool. We will see if it works come Sunday!

School Photos

I just got online and logged onto the little 'parent portal' for Solon's school and found some new photos of him busy in class.

Gets Old Real Quick

My least favorite thing to do...pick up Legos that Solon dumps on the floor almost daily...

The Big Meet-Up

Will was in town to meet his half-brother Melton. They spent Saturday doing guy things like playing boccie ball and shuffle board, and Melton then invited us to join them out at Stats to watch the State & Bama games. It was super fun. Will's cousin, Thomas, joined as well, and we haven't seen him in about 7 years. We had a great table on the roof and watched the sun set. And really I was laughing the entire time we were there. And State won!

Little-Helper

Muffin tried to help us with everything from nailing and leveling.

Another Day...Another Fence

Jay and I surprised even ourselves on Saturday. We woke up early and made a run to Home Depot to get fence boards and nails..and came home and put up 2/3 of the fence while Muffin was down for his nap. After lunch we decided that we could finish up the entire thing by the end of the day, so we made another run to the store for more materials. And Ta-Da! We have a completely fenced in yard. Taco will finally get to come home~and she and Anna will have the entire yard to run around..and play with Muffin.

Duck and Move

We wanted to take photos of the front of the house and all the fountains, but all the sprinklers were turned on. So I took photos of Will trying to dodge them.

Swan House

This is the most photographed house in Atlanta supposedly, and I have had it on my list of things to do since living here. The Inman family built it in 1936. It was pretty simple, but nice. Our tour guide was a bit of a stickler for the rules (there were 3 of them), and Will got called out for touching a button. "Remember the first rule!" We couldn't take photos inside, but Will made a discovery that required the tour guide to break out the white glove and investigate. There was a door & chute in one of the fireplaces, which they didn't seem to know about. We all agreed that it was how they discarded of the coals.

On Your Mark...

Will and I had all day Friday to hang out, and it was fabulous weather. We did some light shopping around Little Five Points, then lunch at The Flying Biscuit and then to the Atlanta Historic Museum to tour the Swam House. We had a little time before the tour, so we hit a few of the other attractions. The 1996 Olympics display stuff was pretty neat, but Will couldn't resist going to see what the "Sports Lab" was all about. He tried out the long jump simulation, but then I made him regret this sidetrack because I beat him pretty good on the bike race.

And Action

My great friend Will came into town from Boston on Thursday night to spend the weekend. He got to our house after Solon had gone to bed, so they got to meet the following morning. I think Will's height was a little intimidating at first, but soon Will had him laughing. I tried catching a few pics of them chasing each other around the house, but only managed this one of Will jumping out from behind the fridge and scaring Solon.

Blue Eyes Crying

Willie played Angels Flying Too Close to the Ground, On The Road, Always on My Mind and Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain back to back. There wasn't a dry eye between us three girls. It was a great show and a great way to end the weekend celebrating Daddy.

Ready and Waiting

We all sat out and enjoyed Cowboy Mouth and Galatic...and waited for the big finale. Midway through the Cowboy Mouth show the Blue Angels appeared and flew by along the coast.

Two Peas In a Pack & Play

We hired a babysitter for Sunday night, and this is where the boys were chilling when she showed up. Not one single toy in there, but they were just laughing it up.

Caught Poking

We were chatting in the den, and I caught Solon and Luke poking each other in the belly buttons.

Scavengers

Solon ate popcorn for the first time and loved it. These two devoured an entire bag on their own and demanded a refill.

Side Show

While we were walking along the streets the boys spotted these sprinklers and made a b-line for them. They were soaked before you could even stop them.

On The Big Street

Luke got a tricycle just like Solon's, so we took them out to ride on the street. Solon took off and actually made it over the big speed bumps. Luke worked on getting the mechanics down. He finally decided to chase after Solon because it was quicker.
