Not To Be Forgotten

Here Luke is taking a trip to the ER on Friday night. He split his chin open while getting out of the tub. He was quite the trooper heading out, and thanks to Sarah they were out of there in about 3 hours.

And I Bid You A Good Night

The boys were super tired while we got dinner ready, so we plopped them in front of the computer to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol. Yeah. That was the only DVD in the house that was kid-friendly.

Saturday Night

We had tons of champagne for mimosas, music and great weather. We all hung out, danced with the boys, ate pizza, got adjusted by Adam, played ping pong and had a great time.

Just A Toe

It was so hard for Solon and Luke to resist the pool, so they spent a lot of time playing on the first step and handrail.

Decked Out

While Sally was still in the hospital, Janie and I went and decorated my dad up in a bunch of pink flowers, ribbon and pink bird in honor of the new addition to our family.

Gotta Get Out

With so many kids in the house, we all headed to the park for a couple of hours on Saturday. Matt, Adam & Kelly jogged while the rest of us hung out and monitored the boys. There is no shade on this playground and you typically melt if you sit out here for too long. But yeah! They installed a mister to help everyone keep cool.

Dangerous Creatures

Their is a pump that contiuously runs in the pool, and it has a long tail on it that surfaces every once in a while spewing water. It has been dubbed the Pool Snake. So Jay spent a bit of time letting the boys wrestle the pool snake and get soaked in the process.

And The Crowd Grew Overnight

The entire Rabinowitz clan slowly trickled into town, so Saturday morning we made a big breakfast of eggs, pancakes and bacon.

Hello!

Sarah came over for a few hours on Friday night and met Ansley and gave the boys a couple of fun little toys.

Beach Action

The weather was fantastic, so we all headed to the beach on Friday to grab an early dinner and enjoy the sand/water. We set up below Hemingway's restaurant, where there were a bunch of empty tables. We buried the boys feet, fed the birds and a few of us ventured out onto the pier.

Video Call

Amanda, Matt & Caelan have only seen photos of Ansley seeing that they live in Michigan, so we all Skyped on Thursday night for a few minutes. It took a while to connect, so the boys practiced their silly faces and sat patiently in front of the computer. When were linked up, we didn't have audio so we talked via a couple of cell phones and just waved at one another.

Here We Go Loopty-Loo

The boys did a lot of laps around the house in the course of the weekend. Chasing each other and laughing.

Unwinding

The boys had a big afternoon filled with playing, so they spent some time watching some cartoons and laying on the couch. Ansley sat in her swing where she didn't make a peep.

Irish Food

We decided to make shepherd's pie for St. Paddy's, and we chose an Alton Brown recipe. Jason had some lamb, and he and Janie got busy over the stove. It was hands down one of the best things I have eaten in forever.

P90X For Tykes

Jay and Jason were doing a few exercises in the den, and Solon joined in for a bit.

Another Trip Down

Jay took off Thursday and Friday, so we could make a long weekend down in Pensacola. He wasn't able to be there when Ansley was born, so he was the first one to hold her when we got to the house. She was decked out in her St. Patty's Day onesie and pink tu-tu.

Namesake

Solon was named after my great-great-grandfather, Solon Irving Brown. Before Solon was born I tried to track down photos of his namesake, but I didn't have any luck. The plan was to frame the old photos and hang them in his nursery. Anyway, this past week I received a package in the mail from my grandmother, Nanna. In it were these three photos of Solon I. Brown (Papa Brown) and his wife Lillie Bell (Mama Brown). Nanna had come across them and thought of me..and made me copies. I am pretty excited to finally have them and plan on having them framed soon.

Whirling Dervish

Keeping three little boys entertained and on task was quite a challenge. Their were fights over toys, jumping on beds, running around, building tents & climbing. I have to say that overall they were better than you could have asked. The loved looking at Ansley and listened to the adults..most of the time.
