Nice To Meet You

I worked with Solon and his rolling over skills and couldn't find the perfect object to get him focused. Cue the Baronne Pony! Most people know my love for horses and when I was younger I wanted a stuffed pony (that stood up) like my cousin Betsy's. In 1998, I was interning in DC and found the perfect one at FAO Schwartz. Yes. I was 22 and my friend Kevin made me feel so ridiculous that I didn't purchase it at first. But I knew I would regret it, so I snuck back a week later without him and snatched it up.
Then I had to pick the perfect name. Jay was in New Orleans at the time and living on a street called Baronne. One weekend I was visiting him and thought if I changed how it was pronounced (making it rhyme with pony) it would be a good one. I even made up a dance. So he has sat on my bed for the past 11 years! And I was very excited to see that Solon seemed to love him as well!
