The Long and Winding Trip

The Thanksgiving cabin was located fairly deep in the Alabama woods, and it was quite an event getting everyone there Wednesday night. The P'cola crew and us were the first to arrive. We actually turned onto the last stretch of road right behind Sally, Janie, Jason and Luke. I started honking when we spotted their car, and then we got a wave confirming that it was them.
So we rolled in and started hauling in the mountain of stuff we all packed. And then! I got a call from my Mom. She didn't get on the road until late in the afternoon due to a ridiculous line at Honey Baked Ham, so we all began strategizing her arrival due to the dark weather and zero street lights. To sum up a long story. She got a flat tire near Macon, had a nice man who worked at Denny's get her to the Walmart to get a new tire, back on the road, then Jay/Jason met up with her about 50 miles away from the cabin and got her in safely. Matt and Christy's car broke down (failed transmission) about 5 miles away from the cabin, so once again Jay/Jason headed out to rescue them. The rest of the Rabinowitzs arrived easier. And then we all stuffed our faces with pizza and relaxed around the place.
