Back On The Road

We are making cheesy, chicken enchiladas today.  I am heading back to Greenwood tomorrow morning with a U-haul hitched to the back of my truck, and I want to make sure Jay has plenty of sustenance to make it through my absence.

Sally, Janie, Aunt Penny and Aunt Mary will be joining me as well, and we will spend the next few days loading up the things Nanna left to her three daughters.  Since my mom is gone, us three girls are going in her place.

This is an all too familiar process.  It is a bit morbid, but Sally, Janie and I jokingly call ourselves 'pros' now.  We know all the un-fun details and pitfalls that are involved with going through a loved one's things.  It is hard for people to believe it when I tell them because us three are so close, but we nearly came to blows when dividing up my mom's stuff.  There was lots of yelling and crying.  And at one point I ran upstairs to pack my bags and vowed to never return to Pensacola.  Yeah.  It was a crazy scene that thankfully only us three witnessed.

But it can't be helped sometimes. Your emotions are running high ,and you aren't thinking clearly.  And us three were clinging to every little thing that reminded us of Momma.

I am hopeful that this trip will be positive, and we can all share some great memories of Nanna despite the raw feelings from losing her so recently.

And hopefully Jay and Ann survive the 4 days I am gone with Muffin and Tudor-B!
