My good friend and ex-coworker, Erik, stopped by for lunch yesterday. Solon had ravioli, and we had pizza. We caught up since we hadn't seen each other since before the holidays. We talked about all the new going-ons in the neighborhood and what our plans were career-wise seeing that our profession has all but shut down. He had a few Christmas presents in hand which were awesome! When he and his wife go out of town, Solon and I always take care of their two big orange cats (Spotty and Stripey) who Solon loves to chase after. So they found a little tiger/cat toy that kind of resembled them. It is actually a little flashlight and makes growling noises. Solon also got a DVD of all the Muppet Show classics with Dom Deloise, Bob Hope and Ed Burns. And then we got a beautiful bird house. Erik and Shannon have watched us slave over our yard since we moved here and know that we are trying to attract all sorts of birds to pretty the yard up and keep the mosquito count low! We can't wait to find a pretty place to hang it!
